Grinduro Japan was a gravel race in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Each year the event was pretty disorganized, a pretty detailed history of events can be found in this Japanese language blog Plover Cycles.

Regardless of the organization challenges, the event was challenging and made for a fun day.

Unfortunately almost all timed sections for the 2024 event was hill climbs (and tough ones at that), so my choice to bring the mountain bike for this event didnt pay off as well as I had hoped - though it did make smashing down the downhills a lot of fun!
